Early life and career

Bachchu was born as Robin[7] in Chittagong district under Patiya Upazila at Khorna union on 16 August 1962 to Haji Mohammad Ishuque Chowdhury and Nurjahan Parvin.[8][9] He grew up in Chittagong.[9] He was a student of Government Muslim High School in Chittagong.
Bachchu made his debut in the music industry with the song "Harano Bikiler Golpo". He started his music career there with the band Feelings in 1978.[10] From 1980 to 1990, he was a member of Souls as the lead guitarist.[11][2][5] In 1986, he released his first solo music album Rakto Golap.[9] He got his breakthrough in his second solo album Moyna in 1988.[7] In 1991, he formed his own band, LRB.[2][5] LRB released its first album as a double album, which contained hard rock songs inlcuding "Ghum Vanga Shohore", "Madhobi", "Hoker", "Sesh Cithi Keno Amon Chithi Hoy", "Happy", and "Dhakar Sondha".[9]
LRB released their second album, "Sukh" and third album Tobuo in 1993 and 1994 respectively.[7] It contained hard rock, blues, rock songs like "Sukh", "Gotokal rate", "Khoniker Jonno", "Cholo Bodle Jai", "Sei Tumi", "Haste Dekho Gaite Dekho", and "Rupali guiter".[5] Bachchu released his third solo album Koshto in 1995.[9]
Bachchu collaborated with Radio Foorti[when?] to bring the new talents and fresh voices into the spotlight by giving them a platform to perform and shine.
Bachchu was one of the leaders of Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA).[12]
Death
Bachchu was admitted to the CCU of a hospital in Dhaka in November 2012 for the accretion of water in his lungs. He recovered after receiving treatment.[13] On 18 October 2018, he died of cardiac failure at his residence in Maghbazar at the age of 56.[14] He was declared dead at the Square Hospital, Dhaka.[15] He was laid to rest in his hometown Chittagong alongside his mother at the Choitonno Goli graveyard.
